Grandma offered to walk her friends halfway home, especially since they were scared of passing through the graveyard alone.

I remember a funny story my grandmother told me about the time her friends came over for an evening of ghost stories. Mavis, Angie, Chrystal, and Anne loved sharing spooky tales to pass the cold winter nights.

My grandmother said they had a lot of fun sitting around the fireplace. On this particular night, Chrystal had some really scary stories that had everyone on edge by the end of the evening.

As usual, Grandma offered to walk her friends halfway home, especially since they were scared of passing through the graveyard alone. Halfway through, Mavis suddenly screamed and pointed at what looked like a pale, ghostly figure floating in mid-air, making strange noises. Everyone was already jumpy and immediately assumed it was a ghost. They all ran in different directions to hide behind the bushes. An eerie silence filled the air as they hid, scared of what might be out there.

Then the laughter came!

It was Grandma, who had bravely peeked out from behind her bush to get a better look at the pale figure. She realized it was no ghost. The wind had picked up a white sheet and draped it perfectly over one of the taller tombstones. The flapping cloth made it look like a floating figure, and the strange sounds were just the wind blowing through the trees and buildings.
