My grandma got lost during her morning walk and started working for a Mexican restaurant.
My grandma arrived at my house the evening before after a long flight. When I woke up the next morning, she was nowhere to be found. I jumped in my car and drove around town looking for her. After a couple of hours, I decided to take a lunch break at my favorite Mexican restaurant. I ordered my tacos and sat down at an empty table. When my food was ready, it was served by an old lady in a sombrero. I looked up to thank her, and there was my grandma!

She had been pretty jet-lagged, so early in the morning she decided to take a walk and, of course, got lost without a cellphone or cash. She wandered into town just as the stores were opening. She approached the friendliest-looking place, which happened to be my favorite Mexican restaurant. With her limited English, she asked if she could stay there until I found her. They misunderstood and thought she wanted to work there. They gave her an apron and some dishcloths and pointed to the tables, so she cleaned them. Then they handed her a dish brush and pointed to the dishes, and she washed them. This continued throughout the day until I found her.

I explained the situation to the lovely Mexican couple who owned the restaurant and thanked them for their help. They kindly offered my grandma a part-time position to help open up the shop every morning for the rest of her stay. As a bonus, they paid her a nice wage.
